Research Paper HELP!?

I have been igned a 2000 word research paper. The teacher did not clearly define if the 2000 words had to be the total count for the whole entire paper including the annotated bibliography, works cited, ect. Or if the 2000 words had to be contained within the main body of the paper with the works cited and annotated bibliograpy adding on to the 2000 word count. PLEASE HELP!
