I messed up a few years ago by forgetting to defer my Student loan payments from abroad. What can I do?

I had already deferred previously but after working overseas I completely forgot about it. Stupid, yes, but I've been too worried to know what to do. I work as a teacher in S.E Asia so at no time have I earned enough to meet the minimum salary required for repayment and have doentary proof of this but it's been so long I'm terrified and have kept putting it off. Please give me some advice. If you want to be a wise-guy and have a laugh at my expense (it happens on 'Answers' from time to time), please don't bother. Thank you for your time.
