How many of you agree with former President Dwight D. Eisenhower (R) and was he correct?

It speaks to the level of moderation that was present in American politics in his day. Rhetoric for the "right" has so shifted away from a centrist view that Eisenhower would not recognize his own party today, or, even the level of discourse, acerbic discourse, that politics senses as required in our era.
