Moving to Australia from UK- I have seen a job I'm interested in. See more below:?

I'm currently doing a Masters in Museum Studies, one of the subjects required for a skilled visa. In total (including an extra voluntary placement which will take me through to the end of my course), my colelctive work experience in the sector will equal just under two years. I have just seen a job advertised in Australia (I'm in the UK) and I was wondering how the visa process would work for this? Am I right in saying that if I got a temporary working visa, the kind travellers get, this would come quickly, but I can only stay in one job for a maximum period of 6 months? Or can I stay longer? What sort of visa would I have to apply for and how long would it take to be processed? My friend waited a few months to have one processed for moving from the UK to Australia for nursing. Will the process be faster if I had a job lined up? Thank you in advance.
