Culture Shock in Teaching Career.....?
I am new in a NZ sch and have been teachng back in my home country. As expected the school cultures in the two places are very diffrnt from each other.Honestly I am finding it quite difficult to engage the interests of my students, who are more liberal than those I have been used to.I never had any clasrm managmnt problms before but now they seem to be part of my routine.I am glad to say that my principal and other colleagues are extrmely supportive but i think its not a good reflection on me as a teacher if I keep askng them for help wth my cl.Another problm I am facing is that some kids think that science is boring and they are nt good at it.I do undrstnd that I hav to make my lessons more intrstng so that the curiosity returns and kids begin to believe more in themslves.....but how? N then I dont trust them enough to actively engage them in experiments just yet.....Help pliz????
